Trauma

Trauma isn’t just about what happened, it’s about how your body and nervous system adapted in order to survive. Trauma can leave lasting imprints that affect how you think, feel, and relate to others. You might feel stuck in patterns of hyper-vigilance, shutdown, or emotional overwhelm without fully understanding why. In our work together, we’ll gently explore these patterns and support your system in finding safety, regulation, and healing. My approach is grounded in trauma-informed care, integrating mind and body to help you reconnect with yourself and the world around you.

Relationships

I believe your relationships should feel like home, not your greatest source of stress. My work focuses on helping you heal and strengthen the relationships that matter most. I work with both couples and individuals seeking clarity, connection, and change. This includes everything from codependency and narcissistic dynamics to emotionally immature parents, strained sibling bonds, and partner conflicts.

Codependency

Codependency often looks like putting everyone else’s needs before your own, and feeling guilty when you don’t. You may struggle to set boundaries, feel responsible for other people’s emotions, or lose sight of who you are outside of your relationships. Over time, this can lead to exhaustion, resentment, and a deep sense of disconnection from yourself. In therapy, we’ll explore where these patterns began and gently start to shift them, so you can build relationships rooted in mutual respect and emotional safety. You deserve to feel grounded in who you are, not just in who others need you to be.

Narcissistic Abuse

Narcissistic abuse is a form of emotional manipulation where one person consistently disregards your boundaries, invalidates your feelings, and distorts reality to maintain control. Over time, you may start to question your memory, suppress your needs, and feel like you're always to blame. Many people in these dynamics feel anxious, hyper-vigilant, emotionally drained, or unsure of who they are outside the relationship. This kind of abuse can be subtle and confusing. In therapy, we’ll work together to untangle the impact of this abuse, rebuild your sense of self, and help you feel safe, grounded, and empowered again.

Marriage & Couples Counseling

As an EFT-trained couples therapist, I specialize in helping partners navigate the deeper, more complex layers of their relationship. My work focuses on the underlying emotional patterns that fuel disconnection, conflict, and pain—especially in couples struggling with chronic communication issues, codependency, unresolved family-of-origin trauma, and the impact of alcoholism or emotional toxicity.

Through Emotionally Focused Therapy, I help couples move beyond surface-level conflict to explore the vulnerable needs and fears driving their dynamic. Together, we work to rebuild trust, restore emotional safety, and create a more secure, connected bond.

Family of Origin Relationships

Family of origin work delves into the ways in which your past experiences, particularly within your immediate family & parental figures during your childhood, have influenced your view of yourself, others, and the world.
One of the most profound aspects of clinical work involves delving into your family of origin and exploring the wounds of your inner-child. Your relationships within your family of origin and with your primary caregivers during your early years shape how you navigate your adult relationships and significantly impact your attachment patterns. By gaining a deeper understanding of your early attachments to your caretakers, you can identify and enhance your self-awareness within your adult relationships.

Nervous System Regulation

The nervous system plays a central role in keeping our bodies regulated and balanced, and it deeply impacts our emotional and mental well-being. When it becomes dysregulated—often due to chronic stress, trauma, or early life experiences—we can feel overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally stuck. Psychosomatic therapy helps you understand and work with your nervous system, using tools like breathwork, mindfulness, and vagus nerve regulation techniques. I’m trained in Polyvagal Theory, which explores how our nervous system responds to stress and connection, shaping our emotions and behaviors. I’m also a Certified Breathwork Coach and incorporate holistic practices to support your healing. Together, we’ll work toward restoring balance in your body and greater ease in your life.

Addiction

Addictive behavior is any behavior that we are likely to repeat because it has been followed by a reward experience - compulsive shopping, gambling, pornography, sex, compulsions around eating, etc. Some cues that you may be experiencing addictive thinking and behavior: unsuccessful pacts with yourself to quit, doing more of a behavior than is intended, cue-triggered responses, loss of control, and affect on your daily functioning.

My background and the beginnings of my therapeutic work was in the addiction field, and some of my most rewarding experiences as a therapist have been witnessing the healing journey toward recovery. Whether you are on a journey toward sobriety or harm-reduction, I can be a guide for you in understanding and healing your addiction.

Mood Disorders

Mood Disorders are disorders characterized by persistent changes in mood, including Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorders, and Cyclothymic Disorder. Sometimes life throws us a curve ball: career change, divorce, breakup, geographical change, empty nesting, an accident, etc. Whether it was expected or unexpected, life changes can be quite distressing and cause changes to your mood. Sometimes, nothing has happened at all, and the chemistry in your brain begins to change, altering your mood. Together we will focus on your changing moods, and help you to stabilize so you can work toward living your most fulfilling life. ** Disclaimer - I do not see clients in my private practice who are currently struggling with chronic, unrelenting Depressive Disorders and suicidal ideation**
